Tooth Fairy, gas prices and bumper stickers

So last week Curt's parents went to Philly (actually West Chester, PA) for the week to take care of our niece and two nephews while Craig and Susan were on vacation. In that week James, who is 5, lost two teeth. But the first one he accidentally swallowed. Apparently he was pretty upset about it. But big sister, Madison, helped him write a note to the Tooth Fairy explaining the situation. The Tooth Fairy left a dollar and took the note. His second tooth was hanging by a thread. Grandma Marilyn gave him a little help with that one. But James told me he was saving it so he could show his mom and dad when they got home. He sounded so proud. Too cute.

So aren't gas prices supposed to sky rocket for Memorial Day weekend? Well, here they didn't. The cheapest I saw was $2.25 a gallon--and that is cheap for California. Normal is about $2.50 or $2.60.

You gather very quickly in this area that most people are liberal. I was telling our friend Eric recently that I hadn't yet seen one pro Bush bumper sticker. Eric said he had seen a few. But he lives in an area where people are a little more fuu-fuu (aka are loaded with cash). Anyway, when Curt and I came home Monday evening we were parking and a truck passed by with a Bush/Cheney bumper sticker. I couldn't believe. The first one I have seen since living here (almost three months).

lucky duck. i think the only *non* conservative bumper stickers i've seen here are in the republic's parking lot. :-)
