Just talk louder

So yesterday I was talking to Curt on my cell. I was telling him something ... I am sure it wasn't important. He told me I was breaking up. So I just said, OK, I will see you tonight. He tells me again that I am breaking up. So what do I do? I kick it up a notch or two and talk much louder, you know cuz that really works if your voice is breaking up over the phone.
